Whole Family Wellbeing

WFW approach in ΎΕΙ«

Across Scotland, the WFW funds are implemented through the local strategic  in order to create transformational change. Allocation of funds within ΎΕΙ« aligns with . A model of local delivery which provides equitable delivery across the city for families. It was developed as an evidence-based and needs-led approach to services.

Within ΎΕΙ«, we have six funded collaborations and a central WFW team. Each collaboration is working towards delivering transformational change within a specific area of identified need. The collaborations are supported by the central team to develop their holistic family support approach, offer workforce development opportunities and gather impact and learning. 

EDAN Hub

The EDAN Hub supports children and young people aged 0 to 25 with disabilities or neurodivergent needs, along with their parents and carers. It offers a wide range of services to help families navigate challenges and build on strengths.

Umbrella Hubs

Umbrella Hubs provide whole-family support for children and young people aged 0 to 18 and their parents or carers, especially those who don’t meet the threshold for social work. Support is offered through community 'pop-ups' providing access to advice, emotional support and local services.

The Family Hub

The Family Hub supports families whose children are not yet in early learning or childcare settings. It offers group play opportunities, one-to-one home visits, parenting programmes, signposting, and access to mental health and practical support.

Parent Infant Partnership (PIP)

The Parent Infant Partnership supports families during the first 1,000 days of a child’s life, conception to age two, where risk or need is high. Through dedicated social workers and partner services, PIP provides early, trauma-informed support to build parenting capacity and strengthen infant attachment.

Time to Talk 

Time to Talk is a youth work-based collaboration supporting the mental health and wellbeing of young people aged 12 to 25 across ΎΕΙ«. Delivered by five local youth and community groups and supported by NHS Lothian, it offers accessible mental health support rooted in trusted relationships.

Parent-Led Childcare (PLCC)
