The What Kind of ΎΕΙ«? project has given children and young people across ΎΕΙ« the chance to influence how adults plan and run the city’s services.
on the Children’s Parliament website.
What Kind of ΎΕΙ«? follows on from 2017’s ΎΕΙ« Children’s Partnership project. Children’s Parliament and Young ΎΕΙ« Action delivered the project on behalf of the City of ΎΕΙ« Council and ΎΕΙ« Children’s Partnership.
The project
What Kind of ΎΕΙ«? worked with 40 children and young people to find out what matters to them and what they would like to see improve. Twenty decision makers from
- the Council
- NHS Lothian
- the voluntary sector
- Police Scotland
met with the children and young people six times from August 2018. They heard their views on the five priorities of the ΎΕΙ« Children’s Partnership:
- best start in life
- health and wellbeing
- fairness
- achieving your best in education
- participation and empowerment.
The decision-makers made pledges in response to the suggestions.
What Kind of ΎΕΙ«? provides a model of strategic engagement for adult stakeholders, children and young people. It supports the public bodies who form ΎΕΙ« Children’s Partnership to meet obligations defined in the Children and Young People (Scotland) Act (2014).
